A long way to Warrington

It’s the end of Day 4 and we’ve now covered 300 miles. I’m writing the blog a little early as there’s 96 mile to do on Wednesday (day5) and it’ll be an early start in the morning.

The weather was definitely better on day 4, bright and sunny however the wind was blowing 18mph in our faces all day. It made the cycling a lot harder but we knuckled down and cracked on. We actually managed to complete it (70 mile) in less than 6 riding hours which was good considering.

Today (Weds) we start with a few climbs for the first part of the morning going towards Clun and Bishops Castle. Later we come down into Shrewsbury and the map looks relatively flat in from there on in all the way to Warrington. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. We’re all feeling the effects of 4 days straight now.

It looks like it’s gonna be a hot one too so water and juice will be in full flow. This is a very long stretch!

We’ve been given complimentary treatment in David Lloyd Warrington for the evening of day 5. Sauna, Steam Room, Jacuzzi, Plunge pool and bait, hence the early start as we’ve got a target to get there by 7pm (ish 🙂).

Check out our pics from the ride so far in our gallery.
