Day 11: Fort William to Dingwall

Waking up with Loch Linnhe in one line of sight, and Ben Nevis in another, I think if the weathers in our favour, we’re spoilt for choice this morning!
Leaving Fort William, we immediately drop onto The Great Glen Way and pass both Inverlochy Castle’s 13th Century ruin, The Jacobite Steam Train, and then in view comes Neptune’s Staircase of locks. Photos taken, from here it’s a flat track for 10 mile along the canal side into Gairlochy.
Having paid our respects at the Commando Memorial, Nevis Range in backdrop, it’s onwards to Laggan, Invergarry Castle and Loch Oich which see’s us 30 miles in. Not far from here is Fort Augustus where we’ll stop for lunch.
Cycling out of Fort Augustus, we’re bankside on Loch Ness for a good 20 mile heading to Urquart Castle before turning off for a steep climb up and over into Beauly. Conon Bridge and Muir of Ord, 2 small villages we pass through before arriving into Dingwall. Hoping the weather is with us on this day.
