Day 2

Day 2: Looe to Exeter

80miles

Day two and hopefully we’re still raring to go as 80 mile and over 8000ft of ascents await us!.

After leaving Looe, we head north towards Liskeard then onto the Tamar Valley. We’ll have a little stop here at the village of Tavistock and fuel up ready for the climbs that start from here on in.

Back on the saddle and we climb up to 1500ft elevation and cross over the Dartmoor National Park where we’ll be blessed with nothing but open roads for a good couple of hours. Lets hope the weather is on our side too!. We then come down to street level and return to civilisation as we arrive in Exeter having covered 60 mile so far.

After grabbing bait we then head on to todays final destination, Dunkeswell located within Blackdown Hills. We’ve got 15 miles of flat terrain and then one very long and steep bank to tackle while passing Hembury Fort. Just what we need to work up the thirst for a well earned pint or 2 upon arrival to the hotel.
