Day 9: Abington to Arrochar

Looking at the elevation below, and even though its 80mile, today should feel like the easiest. Downwards descents, flat runs and only 2500ft of climbing across the stretch. However, after 8 consecutive days in the saddle and 600 mile clocked up it may not feel like the easiest!
Leaving Abington we head north and our first stop is Larkhall, then Hamilton and then forward onto Cambuslang. Here we jump onto the Clyde walkway and riverside cycle path.
We follow that cycle path for 20 miles as we navigate through and around the city of Glasgow. Plenty of opportunities for photo’s with bridges and cranes a plenty before landing in Dumbarton knowing the Trossachs National Park is just an hour away.
North we go where we become blessed with the stunning views of Lochs and Glens. Our first being Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond standing over 3000ft high. We ride Lochside until we at land at Arrochar where a pint in Ben Arthurs Bothy awaits.
